OUR FESTIVAL

What is Rhondda Arts Festival?

The Rhondda Arts Festival (RAFT) is an annual festival aimed at celebrating and showcasing the wide range of creativity and talent that exists throughout all art forms in Rhondda, and to also bring the finest visiting artists to the region. The scope of the festival encompasses music, theatre, dance, literature, painting, photography and more!  The theme for this year is ‘Rhondda Valleys: centre of the universe’ and we’re so excited to explore the theme together.

Where is the Rhondda arts festival?

On the Friday and Saturday – we’ll all be on Ystradfechan field in Treorchy for our ‘big weekend’. There are also satellite events at various events across the Rhondda. You can find more information about these when booking tickets.

Why should I attend?

Arts festivals are an amazing way to explore new things as well as celebrate things that you already love! Our hope for the Rhondda Arts Festival 2024 is that it helps you engage with your community, discover new things and find out more about the world. We really believe there’s something for everyone at the Rhondda Arts Festival.

If you have any specific access needs, please make us aware via info@raft.cymru and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

FAQs

Travel and parking

We’d encourage you to use public transport wherever possible – there is a train station in Treorchy and buses run all over the valley. If you’re planning on staying late why not book a taxi? If you’re local, why not consider walking, cycling or lift sharing?

3 car parks that will be open from 28th-29th June:

1. Treorchy Co-op Car Park. Please follow instructions in the car park and make sure you pay.

2. Treorchy Comprehensive School Car Park

3. Treorchy Rugby Club Oval Car Park

Can I bring my dog?

To Ystradfechan field – yes! Please just keep them on a lead and under control.

Can I get a refund if I can’t make it?

Unfortunately we will not be able to offer refunds. If you can’t make it we suggest you find someone to sell / give your ticket too.

Can I bring my own booze?

Because of licensing, strictly only alcohol and food that is purchased on site will be allowed. But remember – it’s a fab chance to support independent businesses and the festival! Save your boozy picnic in the park for another day 😉
